Hello and welcome to the SecurityTalk Forum. I hope that while visiting you find some valid, and interesting discussion involving the internet, systems, hardware, software and of course security.
While here you must adhere to the following rules:
1. Absolutely no SPAM - There will not be any warnings or suspensions. If you are caught spamming then your account will automatically be banned and stripped from the site.
If you have a website, and it pertains to the topic of the SecurityTalk then you may post it in your signature. However, posts themselves are for topics relating to the various forums.
2. Respect others and their opinions - When discussing topics on SecurityTalk maintain respect for your fellow users. Remember that most debate is based on opinion, and maintaining respect is vital to staying on topic.
If you are caught being disrespectful to another user, here is a list of the consequences.
1st Offense - Warning
2nd Offense - 2nd Warning
3rd Offense - 3 Day Suspension
4th Offense - Ban
3. Keep your signature and post images at a respectable size
To keep a solid flow on SecurityTalk, keep your signatures at a small enough size so that it isn't distracting for other users. Also, when posting images remember that smaller is better.
This rule will be enforced by individual cases. If an image is found to be too large, then a member of the SecurityTalk admin team will ask you to remove it or make it smaller. This goes for signature images, and post images together.
4. Keep content clean, and on topic.
This rule ties in a bit to #1. However, sometimes a user will post something and have it not be spam. It's just offensive or has nothing to do with the topic of the forum. Stay away from this behavior, and make sure when you create a post that it's on topic, and relevant to Security Talk Discussion.
List of consequences for offensive or irrelevant posting:
1st Offense - Warning
2nd Offense - Moderated Posts (must be approved before posting)
3rd Offense - Suspension
4th Offense - Ban
I'm going to leave this topic open, so feel free to ask any questions or make suggestions. I hope everyone finds SecurityTalk useful, and fun.
